We've tested several interim versions on the way to this new forend and this one meets all expectations. Ventilation is increased without sacrificing rigidity. Front QD sling mounts have been provided making a total of 4. They are stainless steel and limited rotation. Side rails are now optional. Note they can be mounted facing forward or aft, giving some discretion on how far forward they go. The unit is easy to mount and dismount in the field.
